Picking the right food to eat
is the most important thing. Heard of the saying "You get what you put in"? I am a true
believer in that. It might take some time to get use to the taste of fresh food but your
body will definitely love you for it. So what sorts of food should we eat? Well for starters we
can use the food pyramid as a guide on what type of food we should be eating the least and
what we should be eating the most of. It is a very good guide on what you should be consuming
everyday. Let's look at the food pyramid below in more detail:

If you look at the very top of the pyramid you have your fats, oils and sweets. These are the food we should
consume sparingly. You don't have to completely omit them from your diet because some of them are actually good
for you such as olive oils and dark chocolates just keep in mind to keep that you can not consume them daily
and in huge quantities.
Next are the dairy products such as milk and cheeses. The healthy daily serving is 2-3 servings. Same as your proteins
such as meats and poultry, 2-3 serving is more than enough. You can mix and match these food throughout the week just
keep in mind the amount of serving you need. With your vegetables and fruits you can have as much as 2-5 servings, they are
full of Vitamins and they are great to snack on. The last but not the least, you have your carbohydrates such as rice, pasta,
bread etc. These food you can have 6 up to 11 servings. Carbohydrates helps bulks up the food you eat which means that
you feel full longer and it will help keep you regular *wink*.
So yes, it's not rocket science. This is where I started with my healthy eating and now I don't even have to be concious of
how much I am eating as it is now my norm to eat the servings that is needed by my body, no more, no less. I have even
picked up a new hobby, cooking. I am really enjoying cooking my own meals because not only do I know what goes in it but I
feel really proud when I cook something so tasty and it's fresh and not processed foods.
I have included yummy recipes here of the dishes I have tried before. Cooking is all about creativity so feel free to try the
recipe and change some of the ingredients as you wish, it's what i always do. So goodluck with your weigthloss, just remember
that you are not alone and that "You can do it!".
